Equipping Lydia believes that being a part of a faith community through the church is instrumental in edifying the body of believers. We encourage our staff, volunteers and EL friends to be a part of a faith community.
There are times when women of faith step away from the church and have even walked away from the church because of a crisis, woundedness, weariness and burnout. Isolation opens the door for the thief to kill still and destroy. It is during these times that the wolf and the roaring lion will seek to devour those who isolate themselves. Equipping Lydia's renewal opportunities are created to provide a safe place within the context of community for a woman who has stepped away or even walked away from the church to become renewed. It is our prayer that through our formation opportunities like retreats, spiritual direction, spiritual formation groups and our leadership opportunities that a woman will see her life and herself from God's perspective and return to her faith community.
Therefore it is our desire that our relationship with the church is a partnership. We desire to come alongside those who are a part of the body of Christ who are weary, wounded, burned out and in need of renewal. We also know that those who lead, often struggle with making time to include rhythms of restoration like solitude and silence into their lives and are oftentimes on the edge of giving up, sometimes on God, the church, and their lives. Equipping Lydia can provide opportunities for renewal through our full day and half day retreats.
